GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do OMI products work?

OMI products are based on a your existing home wifi network to create a security around your home. OMI products use the free OMI app (available for Apple and Android devices) to alert you whenever someone opened or approaches your door or comes in a range of a security camera. You can then view an HD video stream of the person and speak to them using two-way audio communication. The free OMI app also allows you to control all the other functions of your OMI devices such as Doorbell, Cameras, and many other devices. With OMI products, you have control of your home.

How large are OMI products?

OMI Products come in following range.

Does a OMI device require power wires to work?

It depends. OMI Lock, Doorbells, Keypad come with internal batteries that will last six to twelve months with normal use before needing to be recharged or replaced. Though OMI Cam – Indoor would need a power cable. All OMI products, however, come with equipment designed to hook the device up to your home’s existing Wi-Fi. Consult the individual product’s FAQ for a listing of the power options available for that device.

If the device uses a battery, how long does it take the battery to recharge?

Depending on the device, it should take between 4 and 6 hours for a battery to fully recharge if they are rechargeable.

Will I be notified when the battery in my OMI device is running low?

Yes. You will receive email reminders on your OMI app when your battery runs low. The app features a low-battery warning, as well as a battery level indicator that you can check at any time.

Are there any subscription fees involved?

There are no subscription on any OMI devices, it will operate without an additional fee or subscription. You can operate your door lock and receive notifications or you will receive alerts when visitors press your doorbell or trigger motion sensors in your device. You will also get live streaming video and two-way audio.

How can I get help with the setup and installation of my OMI device?

What happens if someone steals my device?

If your OMI device is stolen, please contact us with a police report. Your device cannot be re-registered without the QR code provided with the BOX even if its stolen.

Do I need a wifi connection to set up my OMI device?

Yes. OMI devices require a wireless internet connection for operation. OMI devices are compatible with wireless routers running 802.11 B, G, or N, on 2.4 GHz.

Does my OMI device need to be attached to the computer for the setup process?

No. OMI devices are set up wirelessly by the OMI app on your smart device. You do not need to connect your OMI device to a computer.

Why do I need to connect my OMI device to my personal wifi network?

Among other functions, your OMI device uses your wifi network to be able to controlled wireless, to send live HD video and audio to the OMI app on your smart device.

Where can I download the OMI app?

You can install OMI app from Google Play store or Apple Store.


INSTALLATION

Can OMI Lock be fixed in any Euro Cylinder door?

Yes. You only need to check the depth of the door and select the right size of OMI lock in order to have a hassle free installation.

Can OMI Lock be fixed on any swing door?

Yes. OMI Lock can be installed on any door with euro cylinder. Just refer to the size as mentioned in the instructions.

Can I mount a OMI device to other surfaces, such as glass?

Yes, for certain devices such as a OMI View Doorbell or OMI Keypad. Most OMI devices, though, will need to be mounted on a sturdy surface such as wood, brick or concrete,

What thickness of door works with a OMI Lock?

Standard Door is of 32mm – 50mm which works fine with OMI Lock. If the door is bigger then you can order lock extensions which helps to adapt the size of the door.

What is a OMI Chime?

A OMI Chime is a stand-alone unit which allows the doorbell sound ring inside of the house wirelessly. Once you connect your Chime to your OMI device, simply position the Chime at a place where you can hear the sound well.

Do I have to turn off the power in my house before installing a OMI device?

No need to turn off power supply in your house.

Will I have to purchase anything at a hardware store in order to install my OMI device?

No. Everything you need to install your OMI device including tools, screws, and wires is included in the box when you purchase the product.

COMPATIBILITY

What version of iPhone, iPad, or Android will I need for the mobile version of the App?

Apple devices must be iOS 9.3 or newer. Android devices must be version 5.0 or newer. 

What desktop version will I need for the desktop version of the app?

The app don’t work on desktops.

Are OMI devices compatible with Blackberry devices?

No. OMI devices are not compatible with Blackberry devices.

Do OMI devices work with multiple users?

Yes. You are able to make subsidiary or shared accounts with other users that will allow them limited control over your OMI devices.

How many smart devices can I pair with each OMI device?

You can pair as many wifi enabled smartphones and tablets as you would like to a OMI Device.

TECHNICAL

Can OMI external devices withstand the elements: extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow?

Yes. OMI products will work in freezing temperatures and are resistant to rain. In general, OMI doorbells and Cam products with batteries are rated for operating temperatures between -5 to 120 degrees F. (-20 to 50 degrees C.).

Does OMI support WPA2?

Yes. OMI devices support WPA2, WPA, and 64-bit WEP Hex. We recommend WPA2 for best results.

Do OMI lock use Bluetooth?

Yes. OMI devices operate through wifi and Bluetooth.

What is the video quality put out by OMI Video devices?

Video quality varies depending on the device you choose. The original OMI Video devices uses 720p HD and 1080p HD. Check the product detail for more information.

Do I need a static IP from my internet service provider?

A static IP is not required. Most of the connection process for OMI products is handled automatically through the OMI app.

Would I be able to assign a static IP to my OMI device?

Yes. You can assign a static IP address to a OMI device while doing the Wi-Fi setup.

Can my OMI device run only on my internal Wi-Fi LAN?

OMI products require internet connectivity to connect and send push notifications to your device. Connecting ensures that your OMI device can manage sessions and reach your smartphone or tablet whether you are at home or away.

PAYMENT

Will I be charged on order or when my OMI product ships?

You will be charged as soon as you place your order.

Is there a warranty on OMI products?

Yes. A limited warranty on parts and theft protection applies.

Will I receive an invoice for my OMI product?

After you place your order, we will send you a purchase confirmation email. You can log into your OMI account to view your order history and from there view a printable invoice.

Can I pay through PAYTM?

Yes. You can pay through PAYTM, UPI, PAYPAL and many other payment options.

Shipping and Returns

Products purchased online with be subject to OMIs return policy.

USAGE

Do you have to have the app open in order to receive notifications?

No. As long as you’re not signed out of the app, your smartphone or tablet will receive the notification.

How do you know where your visitor is located if you have multiple OMI devices and/or multiple properties?

During the setup phase, you will be asked to give each OMI device a unique name. Notifications are delivered with the name of the device that triggered them, showing you exactly where the activity is occurring.

If I am on my smartphone without any Wi-Fi connection, will I still be able to see my visitors?

You don’t need a wifi connection as long as you have internet connectivity and your particular carrier doesn’t block video streaming (e.g. FaceTime).

Will all users associated with my OMI device be notified when there’s a notification?

Yes. All users will be notified and will be able to interact with a visitor. However, users can also set their own custom notification settings.

Will my OMI device send me a push notification without internet connectivity?

You will receive a push notification when you are connected to a internet.

Do OMI Products provide a live video feed?

Yes. All OMI Video devices are equipped with Live View, which allows users to stream live HD video and two-way talk (doorbell). With Live View, you can always check in on your property 24/7.

Can I record and store the videos from the camera?

Yes. You can record the videos on your memory card provided in the OMI Video device. You don’t need any subscription for the same.

Is there a way I can try out the OMI Protect Plan before I purchase it?

Yes. You can have a demo at your nearest hardware shop.
